Accessibility
This site is partially conformant with EN 301 549 V3.2.1, which adopts WCAG 2.2 at level AA. Below is what that means, what we have actually checked, and what we know is not good enough yet.
Our commitment
We want anyone to be able to buy or bid on a bottle here, whatever they use to read the page. That means the whole site should work with a keyboard alone, with a screen reader, at 400% zoom, and without relying on colour to tell you anything.
We are not there yet, and the rest of this page is specific about where.
How conformant this site is
This site is partially conformant with EN 301 549 V3.2.1, which adopts WCAG 2.2 at level AA. “Partially conformant” means most of it meets the standard and some of it does not. We use that wording rather than a stronger one deliberately: the checks described below are automated and scripted, and software of that kind finds only a minority of the barriers a real person hits.
What we have tested, and how
Last assessed on 22 September 2026, by self-assessment. No independent audit has been commissioned.
- Every customer page — 24 of them, including the age check, the “page not found” page, signing in, resetting a password and all three legal documents — checked automatically against WCAG 2.2 A and AA at 1440px and 390px, in light and dark appearance. That is 96 versions of the site in total.
- The same pass checks things the standard tooling does not: one top-level heading per page and no skipped heading levels, a visible focus outline on every control, tap targets at or above the required size, and body text no smaller than 16px.
- A keyboard-only walk of every main page: the first key press must reach a “skip to main content” link, every stop must be visible and outlined, and the order must follow the order the page reads in.
- Every page laid out at a 320px width — the equivalent of 400% zoom on a laptop — and checked for anything that forces sideways scrolling.
What we know is not good enough
Four of the five checkout pages — entering a delivery address, choosing shipping, paying, and the final review — have not been through the automated accessibility checks the rest of the site goes through. The first step, signing in, now has.

- Those four are only reachable once you are signed in, and the automated walk cannot sign in. We are building a way for it to, so they are covered like every other page. Until then they have been read by hand rather than measured, which is a weaker check and we are not going to describe it as more than that.
No bottle on the site has a photograph yet. The image area shows a drawn placeholder with a text description instead, so nothing is missing for a screen reader — but the photograph viewer, and the way it behaves for someone using only a keyboard, has never been exercised because there is nothing to put in it.

Separately from the list above, because “we tested it and it falls short” and “nobody has looked” are different things and you deserve to know which is which.
Testing with people who use assistive technology day to day
Everything below was measured with software and by keyboard. No screen reader user, magnification user or switch user has been asked to try this site, and no independent audit has been commissioned. Software finds a minority of real barriers.
The emails we send
Order confirmations, outbid notices and account messages have not been checked against the same standard as the site.
Tell us when something blocks you
We do not yet have a published address for accessibility feedback, and we are not going to print one here that nobody is reading. It will be on this page before the site opens.
If we do not put it right
Where a complaint goes if we do not put something right depends on the country we are registered in, which is being settled now. The authority and how to reach them will be named here before the site opens.
